Dea Fischer

Dea Fischer is an internationally-sought teacher and book artist with works held in public, special and private collections around the world. She has a slow-burning love affair with books, collage and low-tech photography. In her off hours, she engages her community in acts of random creation.

Works shown here include

A Walk in the Woods IV: Constructed from collected slate, bark, leaves and other natural materials set on to deerskin.

The Night Telegram: Accordion book housed in antique tin box, containing antique ephemera-based story and imagery set in Alberta.

Nature’s Artist: Found poetry created by the artist on a parchment scroll, housed in an antique horn vanity box.
