In Langley’s Photography department, books are integral to what we do.
Books form the bedrock of research and inspire projects. Books become outcomes. Students explore narrative, the edit, working sequentially, and story craft.
The images included here are pages from current student Alfie Burton’s A level Photography project, using his own images and overlaid with text generated from the “What 3 Words” mapping application. What3words is a geocode system for the communication of locations with a resolution of three metres. What3words encodes geographic coordinates into three dictionary words which were then overlaid onto the site specific images. Alfie’s work is looking primarily at social deprivation and produced 3 books surveying particular areas of interest.
